As if the West Texas sun wasn’t hot enough, Lubbock has a number of ways to turn up the heat. I set out on a spicy adventure to find the dishes that pack the biggest punch and am here to share with you! Prepare your taste buds as we embark on this flavorful journey throughout the “Hub City”.

Kicking off this hot adventure, we have the Roxie Panini at Burklee Hill Vineyards. Filled with a flavorful mix of chicken, bacon, fresh spinach and guacamole this entree is sure to make your mouth water, and not only because it tastes as good as it sounds. What makes this dish add a spring in your step? It is topped with pepper jack cheese and doused in a spicy chipotle ranch. This is a great option for those beginning to dabble in a little spice; just make sure you have a tall glass of water on deck as you bite into this piquant panini!

Level up at Chilito’s Pepper Cafe. From a pepper filled appetizer to grilled spicy carnitas, you’re sure to sweat through every course. Start your meal off with the Chilito Peppers appetizer. These bacon-wrapped jalapenos will set the tone for what is to come. After a much-needed break, it’s time to order Chilito’s Spicy Carnitas. The juicy diced pork is sauteed in jalapenos and onions, adding that extra kick to every bite. Your taste buds may never be the same after dining here.

Get ready for some delicious Indian food as we head over to Tikka Shack. Whether you indulge on a traditional Indian dish or a more simplified option, each menu item will mesmerize you with its aromatic flavors and spice blends. We recommend getting the Chicken Tikka Masala. This house favorite is a savory, tomato-cream masala flavored with paprika, coriander, and turmeric. After indulging into this popular dish, you’re sure to be a “curry connoisseur”.

It’s time for some pippin pizza at one of Lubbock’s hottest hits, Orlandos. Order a side of ranch and extra water glasses when eating Orlando’s Green Chile Chicken Pizza. A hot twist on an Italian classic, the green chile chicken features a spicy southwestern flavor. Topped with marinated chicken, green chilies, olive oil, garlic, and parmesan, I am drooling just thinking about it. If you’re feeling confident and prepared to break a sweat, take a swing at Orlando’s Angry Bird Pizza. This pizza is covered in habanero garlic butter, mozzarella cheese, green chilies, marinated chicken breast, and jalapenos. This pizza is HOT, to say the least.
