Lubbock Live Music Round-Up

In the heart of the Hub City, all you need to do is follow the beat to find the legacy of many iconic legends like Buddy Holly and Mac Davis who started their music careers in Lubbock. Performers of all styles make their way through the 806 and take center stage to showcase their talent. From arenas to more intimate venues, we’ve rounded up a few of the best live music hotspots in Lubbock for you to enjoy this summer!

United Supermarket Arena | 1701 Indiana Ave. 

A multipurpose arena located on the Texas Tech University campus hosts everything from Basketball games to concerts. The USA is hosting Multi-GRAMMY Award-winning duo For King + Country on May 7th at 7 p.m. as a stop on their “What Are We Waiting For?” Tour Part II. Taking the stage this June, Luke Bryan will find his way to the USA on June 27th at 7 p.m.!

Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences | 1300 Mac Davis Ln. 

Lubbock’s newest world-class theater, The Buddy Holly Hall, features performances from Ballet Lubbock, Symphony Orchestra, Broadway shows and other national headliners. This summer, The Hall is hosting the Music of Queen on May 6th.

The southern rock and alternative country band based in Alabama, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, is performing May 7th at 7:30 p.m. His award-winning albums feature both folk and rock music, offering something for everyone. 

The original Jersey Boy and his career with the Four Seasons will be showcasing his hit singles with Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons on June 16th at 7 p.m.!

Cactus Theater | 1812 Buddy Holly Ave. 

This historic theater is long known for showcasing local, national, and international talent. This summer, get your tickets for Willis Alan Ramsey, the legendary Texas songwriter, on June 2nd at 7:30 p.m., as well as the award-winning Austin, Texas-based Hot Club of Cowtown, performing on June 17th at 7:30 p.m.

Cook’s Garage | 11002 US-87

Every night Cook’s Garage features a full restaurant and bar with live, local music ranging from outdoor festivals like Cottonfest to indoor local artists. Charley Crockett will perform on the outdoor stage this May, coming to Cooks Garage on May 5th at 8 p.m. On May 13th, Ashley McBryde with Corey Kent will perform at 8 p.m. on the outdoor stage. And to kick off the summer, Brett Young will perform on June 3rd at 8:30 p.m.

The Blue Light Live | 1806 Buddy Holly Ave.

The Blue Light is known for having iconic live music and this lineup is just the start. For a more extensive list, check out the website for artists coming throughout May and June. Josh Meloy is performing on May 6th, Jesse Daniel is playing on May 25th, and Logan Samford is performing on June 16th. Music starts late, but the drinks start early! Buy your tickets at the door and check out the drink specials at the bar.

Lone Star Event Center | 602 E 19th St. 

The largest amphitheater in West Texas is the venue for this year’s Tacos & Tequila Music Festival, presented by Maximus Live on August 26th. Featuring music from Incubus, Third Eye Blind, Badflower, and Paris Jackson. Come out for Tacos, Tequila, and Rock Music! 

Other local Live Music

Two Docs hosts 502 Jam Night, where local artists can perform on certain Sundays from 6 to 9 p.m. They have open sign-ups, and everyone is welcome! At the Midnight Shift, the restaurant at the Cotton Court Hotel, features live music on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. Artists such as Jesse Day, Jenni Dale Lord, and more will perform this May! Check out the website for a more extensive list of artists coming this summer.
