Lubbock has a wide variety of options when it comes to working out and getting in shape. Whether you prefer HIIT workouts or something a little more lax but just as challenging, we have you covered in the 806. Check below for a guide to getting fit in the “Hub City”!

Body by Indigenous | 309 University Ave

At Body by Indigenous, think all things zen. This studio, located, across the street from Tech’s campus, not only works the body through various yoga and barre classes but also the mind. Each workout brings both mental clarity and pushes you to your physical limits. I highly recommend booking the Candlelight Yoga class by Greg. It is the perfect way to reconnect with yourself while also breaking a sweat! Download the MindBody mobile application to book a class today.

Tone Method | 4413 82nd St Ste. 130

From spin, barre, tone piloxing, core, jump and HIIT, each 40-60 minute class offers a complete whole-body workout that is sure to get the heart rate up. Following their mission of connecting people to the best versions of themselves, this is a great option to target the whole body and break out a sweat. If you are anything like me, group classes keep energy high and motivation from wavering. That is a guarantee with every workout from the trained athletes and instructors. Check their website to book any of the classes offered.

Cycle Bar | 7604 Milwaukee Ave # 700

Cycle Bar is not for the faint of heart. With the option of 30, 45 or 60-minute rides, cyclists feel the burn during each full cardio workout. Each rider will receive all the necessary equipment including shoes, a towel, weights and a locker to store your belongings. As the lights go down and the energy rises, instructors turn up the volume and the stats go up on the screens in the front of the auditorium. Each bike monitors what they call CycleStats to follow your progress. Check their website for a complete schedule of upcoming rides!

High Fitness | 7105 Kewanee Avenue | 4705 112th St

Trust me when I say this workout will make you sweat more than you ever have before and push you further than you ever have been, all while making you forget you are working out. Each hour-long class is packed with energy and requires stamina, strength and determination to finish. One of my favorite things about the High Fitness community is how supportive everyone is. There have been times where one more burpee feels like it could make my legs fall off but the energy of the class motivates me to push through one more movement, and then another. Visit their website linked above to find a class at The Falls or Zach’s Club.

Pure Barre | 4210 82nd St Suite 234

Pure Barre is ready to sculpt your body through low-impact, high-intensity workouts. Through dumbells, bands and your own body weight, each movement will make you one rep stronger. This workout is based on the classical art and athleticism of ballet hence the name Pure “Barre.” Channel your inner ballerina as the ballet barre is used throughout the workout. Download their mobile app or log onto their website to schedule your first class today.
