If you haven’t yet made your way to Chrome’s new location at 6701 Slide Rd, you need to ASAP! This classic Lubbock boutique will have you speechless with its new and improved look and locality. As soon as you walk through the glass door, you are welcomed by smiling mannequins dripping with designer clothing and luxuriant jewelry. With high ceilings and bright white walls, Chrome’s wide stretch of inventory from all over the world is impressive, yet inviting to any shopper who finds themselves visiting this boutique for the humbly hip. Take a peek inside my newfound favorite place to spend a good chunk of my paycheck in the LBK.

In my opinion, Chrome is unlike any other boutique in Lubbock, and truly one worth traveling for. Offering brand name clothes like Free People and Spiritual Gangster and shoe designers like Dolce Vita and Jeffrey Campbell, this boutique offers high-end fashion for the West Texas region. Not only do they carry clothing and footwear, but they have recently expanded into unique home decor, eclectic paper stationery and modern-fashion jewelry.

I would be remiss if I did not mention the assortment of designer denim. If you are a jean junkie like me, you love legit, sturdy, well-made denim pieces in your wardrobe. From cut off shorts and bell bottoms to mini-skirts and oversized 90’s style jackets, Chrome is THE place to shop for these staples.

Another gem about this local shop is the assortment of accessories they have to offer. With cases of designer sunglasses and endless racks of leather bags with belts to match, you have access to complete a look in the store or mix-and-match with an ensemble you have at home. These days I find myself grabbing a silky hair scarf for work or snag a band tee to strut on the weekends at brunch with the girls.

Chrome’s home decor section gives me illuminating inspiration. I never thought finding trendy neon signs, artsy coffee table books and Italian stoneware would be accessible in Lubbock, Texas. Each piece I bring back to my house adds culture to my home and allows me to further express myself.

If you are in town this weekend, make sure to cut out a couple of hours for this sizable shop. You will find yourself strolling up and down the aisles of Chrome and finding unique treasures to take back home. And hey, you may even see me there practicing some retail therapy.
