A Luxury Weekend in Lubbock, Texas

In West Texas, luxurious experiences are coupled with high-end, boutique hotels, making for the ideal weekend getaway to treat yourself. Whether you prefer spending your days in the chaize or teeing off luscious country club greens, the “Hub City” is an ideal destination to relax and rewind.

Upon arriving in the 806, visitors are immersed in sunny skies and warm weather. Lubbock, Texas offers a variety of luxury hotels including The Pioneer Pocket Hotel, which located downtown in the Historic Pioneer Building; The Cotton Court Hotel, Lubbock’s newest boutique hotel which pays homage to the city’s history and tradition; and the recently opened Aloft Hotel which brings a modern luxury twist to your home away from home. No matter your needs, each accommodation provides extravagance and leisure from the moment you check in to the time your head hits the pillow.

High-end stays are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what Lubbock has to offer. Our shopping scene balances eclectic styles and designer brands. With a plethora of shopping districts like Canyon West, West End and Kingsgate, as well as the South Plains Mall, it’s easy to shop ‘till you drop! A few of our local favorite boutiques include Chrome, Signature Stag,
H G Thrash Clothier and j. hoffman’s.

For an outdoor indulgence, reserve your tee time at one of Lubbock’s finest golf courses, The Rawls at Texas Tech. This beautiful course was created in 2003 by taking a flat cotton field and creating all of the undulations from scratch. The original idea was to create a course that mimicked the south end of the city where the plain suddenly starts falling into the valleys and canyons that lead to the caprock region. The course is a “links” design, meaning that its pin protection and difficulty stems from dry, fast greens, wind, and sand. It is immaculate with conditions and upkeep mirroring any notable private country club.

Unwind and release your stress at the Woodhouse Day Spa. With signature services such as the Hydrafacial, Seaweed Leaf Pedicure, and a Four-Handed Massage, you’ll feel completely relaxed and rejuvenated. Make sure to arrive 30 minutes before your appointment to calm your mind by the fireplace.

Lubbock’s sophisticated culinary scene is truly cosmopolitan. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention The Nicolett, an upscale dining experience featuring Chef Finn Walter, a gorgeous atmosphere and Texas High Plains-inspired dishes. Chef Finn is world-trained with kitchen experience in Paris, Santa Fe, Austin and the East Coast. Using international techniques on the West Texas fare, this is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. We recommend booking a reservation in the greenhouse for a magical night!

Another great fine-dining option is a pop-up eatery from none other than the local favorite Jon Walter, owner of the Tamale Lady. French Pop Up is located in the Tamale Lady brick and mortar on Main Street in Wolfforth, Texas. With a rotating A la Carte menu featuring hors d’oeuvres, duck confit and french apple tarts, this is a must-try.

No matter how you choose to fill your leisurely itinerary, the LBK boasts an unforgettable experience! Share your weekend with us on social media by tagging @visitlubbock and using #LiveLoveLubbock!
