Summer weather means patio season, and while West Texas can be unpredictable, there is nothing like sitting outside and enjoying a Lubbock sunset. So grab a friend, a loved one or your pup and enjoy a nice evening on one of Lubbock’s premier patios. 

Downtown Lubbock 

From wineries to bars and restaurants, there is so much to explore in Lubbock’s revitalized downtown area. 

The Nicolett | 511 Broadway St. 

For fine dining or an elevated patio evening, check out The Nicolett, a revolutionary culinary experience with dishes made by award-winning chef Finn Walter. 

The Midnight Shift | 1610 Broadway St. 

The Midnight Shift offers live music most weekends and a wide range of food and drinks with a rustic aesthetic feel. For a chill evening on the patio, this is a must-do experience in Downtown Lubbock. 

Two Docs Brewing Co | 502 Texas Ave. 

The outdoor patio creates the perfect atmosphere for the whole family with live music, food trucks and craft brews. Two Docs is always hosting fun events such as Trivia Nights on Monday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and 502 Jam nights. Make sure to check Instagram to see what is coming next. 

The Garden | 1801 Buddy Holly Ave. 

If you are looking for a great spot to hang out with friends or to grab a drink, The Garden is for you. The Garden is an outdoor bar that is pet-friendly with many different yard games and live music. 

McPherson Cellars | 1615 Texas Ave. 

This former bottling plant turned winery is perfect for a wine tasting and live music every Thursday. Patio nights run from May to August from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Make sure to check out the special deals on wine and cocktails. 

South Lubbock

While it is a bit spread out, the south side of Lubbock offers many lively options. 

Ninety-Two Bakery and Cafe | 6303 82nd St. 

Lubbock’s french-inspired bakery and coffee shop offers freshly-made pastries and the cutest patio for an afternoon coffee or morning brunch. 

J’s Creamery | 5101 82nd St. 

For a frozen custard treat, sundae or dessert, head over to J’s Creamery. Don’t forget to bring your furry friend for a puppy cone!

Las Brisas | 4701 112th St. 

This Southwest Steakhouse makes for an elegant patio experience. Las Brisas is known for its steak paired with fabulous appetizers, so make sure to bring your appetite.  

Table 82 | 4210 82nd St. 

Serving up brunch, dinner and drinks, have a cocktail and steak on the patio for a remarkable summer date night. There are many good appetizers on the menu if you are looking for small plates such as the Spinach Artichoke Dip, Fried Zucchini and Crispy Brussels Sprouts. You’ll definitely want to check the happy hour specials. 

Texas Tech Campus Area

There are two buzzing areas near Texas Tech: Broadway Street and the Tech Terrace neighborhood. Known for its classic college feel, Broadway Street is home to many bars and epic eats. 

Chimys | 2417 Broadway St. 

The perfect place for Tex-Mex and a Margarita to beat this West Texas heat. Make sure and try the cheese fries that everyone raves about. 

Bierhaus | 2009 Broadway Street

With swings, games and an overall fun, outdoor bar experience, Bierhaus is a great place to hang and enjoy a drink or two like the Prickly Pear Margarita. 

Miguels | 2010 Broadway Street

This Mexican cocina and bar has a great array of traditional cuisine and signature drinks. Check out their Spicy Margaritas and delicious menu featuring street tacos and more. 

While Broadway is packed with excitement, Tech Terrace has a more low-key atmosphere, and is home to a couple of patios.

Capital Pizza  | 2705 26th Street

The gourmet pizza pie served at Capital is a Lubbock staple! With the option to enjoy your cheesy creation outside, this is the perfect place for summer eats. 

Goodline Brew | 2611 Boston Avenue

Goodline offers local craft brews with a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for an enjoyable night with friends. 

Milwaukee Ave.

Out on the Southwest side of town, Milwaukee is booming with new businesses and restaurants and has become the hot spot for top tier eats and fabulous drinks. There are so many great places to choose from, but if you are looking for an outdoor patio dining experience, try these tasty spots. 

Albarran’s Mexican Bar | 7722 Milwaukee Avenue

If you are looking for fantastic Mexican food during this great summer weather, head over to Albarran’s and check out the daily specials such as the lunch enchiladas on Tuesdays. 

Picosos Mexican Kitchen | 7611 Milwaukee Avenue

This kitchen features mouth-watering brisket Queso, enchiladas, and fajitas. Picosos hosts live music on Friday and Saturday nights on the patio, so make your weekend plans now, and be sure to try the Crispy Rellenos!

Little Woodrow’s | 6313 66th Street

For yard games and drinks, this bar is perfect for an after-work happy hour or a weekend hangout with your pup. Little Woodrow’s is also a great place to catch the game on the big screen outside.

North Lubbock 

He-brews Coffee | 2709 Marshall Street

This coffee shop on the water is the perfect, peaceful patio for your morning coffee stop featuring a view of prairie dogs and the Llano Estacado Lake. 

The Escondido Grill | 701 Regis Street

Escondido at Spirit Ranch has an extensive menu with offerings of barbeque, steaks, burgers and tacos. 

Other

Adventure Park | 5110 29th Drive

The Adventure Park features a thirsty garden with a party on the patio every Friday and Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m. They have live music and give free chips and salsa. 

The Range | 3116 122nd Street

The Range is a one-of-a-kind lighted driving range with 60 tees and different drink specials every day of the week. The Range is great for bringing your pups to hang with you as you practice your swing.
