It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas here in the 806! From time-honored traditions to exciting new events, this holiday season is full of festive fun. As you get your coat out of the back of the closet and embrace the chilly West Texas winter, get ready for a full calendar this month. Take a look below at some of the top holiday events in Lubbock:

Light up your holiday even more this year with Adventure Park’s Christmas in the Park. See more than 500,000 lights fill the park around campfires while enjoying a cup of seasonal hot cocoa. Admission will include a Christmas train ride, a picture with Santa and a s’more kit. The event kicks off on December 8 and will continue every Friday and Saturday through December 23 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

A standout way to celebrate the holiday is by going to see a holiday show at Buddy Holly Hall. This year’s lineup won’t disappoint with Ballet Lubbock’s annual performance of The Nutcracker, a Magical Cirque Christmas performance full of breathtaking acrobatic acts and moving orchestral music from Lubbock Symphony’s popular rendition of Messiah.

Join in the holiday festivities as you experience the Old West with 15 structures decorated to the Christmas nines. The National Ranching Heritage Center is hosting the two-day event on December 8 and 9 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Stroll the lit pathways while you partake in festive offerings like hot cocoa, kettle corn, live music and the opportunity to meet Santa.

Step into a winter wonderland at Mackenzie Park this year with the help of Lubbock’s Park & Recreation Department. A holiday village full of animated displays, Santa’s Workshop and a 50-foot Christmas tree will be open to the public from December 9 – 21 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Enjoy the enchanting sights of the holiday season with the entire family this year.
