Trade in the West Texas sky for a night under the neon lights! Filled with endless deep-fried eats, rollercoasters and live music, the Panhandle South Plains Fair makes for the perfect family-friendly fall activity.

When you’re not busy enjoying the view from the tip top of the ferris wheel, feeding animals at the petting zoo or browsing through the art exhibit and vendor show, treat yourself to one (or many) of our favorite fair food finds! Sweet or savory, fried or roasted, there are endless options to enjoy. Fried cheese, corn dogs and candied apples are just the beginning when indulging in what the South Plains Fair has to offer. Look below for a guide to all the mouth-watering must-tries that have fair-goers coming back for more each year!

We’re making the rules, so why not have dessert first? A stop by the Oakwood United Methodist Church booth is a must. Their iconic, homeade fried peach pie is ooey-gooey deliciousness. Not feeling peachy? No worries! Try one of their other flavors, including apple, cherry, apricot and lemon.

If that sweet tooth still isn’t satisfied, you can’t go wrong grabbing fried oreos, a funnel cake, or a fried Milky Way candy bar for the trip back home.

Now that we’ve got the sugar rush taken care of, it’s time to explore the bottomless pit of savory options. We still have a long list of things to try, so I hope you’re hungry! This next stop is for all of the corn fanatics. If you are unfamiliar with Mexican corn, let me paint the picture for you. Hot, fresh, sweet corn with mayonnaise, chili lime seasoning, and cotija cheese sprinkled on top. Is your mouth watering yet?

Next on the list are our fried-food favorites. Fried pickles, potato ribbons, and jalapeno cheese sticks are never a bad choice. But in this category, there’s a clear winner. The fan-favorite foot-long corn dogs are the best of the best when it comes to greasy goodness. The wrap-around line is well worth the wait for the treat fair-lovers can’t get enough of.

I hope you’re thirsty after trying those famous fair foods. It’s time to try the drink that has everybody raving – hand-squeezed and hand-shaken fresh strawberry lemonade made by Lubbock Impact. You know it’s good when you can’t find the end of the line! One sip of this sweet drink that packs a “Hub City” twist will have you coming back for seconds.

Whatever your foodie heart desires, the Panhandle South Plains Fair has something to satisfy that craving! Share your instagram-worthy fair food pictures with us on social media by tagging @visitlubbock and using #LiveLoveLubbock! See you there!
