Drive-In for a 20-Year Celebration at Stars & Stripes Theatre

Experience the big screen in both a new and old way. Surrounded by the sound of gravel crunching under tires, idling cars, excited chatter of other moviegoers, and the smell of buttery popcorn, the Stars & Stripes Drive-In Movie Theatre creates a unique atmosphere you can’t find anywhere else in the South Plains.

The family-owned and operated drive-in is celebrating its 20-year anniversary this year. They opened in August 2003 and ever since have been helping make memories for the whole family.

Stars & Stripes continues to be an unparalleled movie destination in Lubbock with a 50s-themed diner for either dinner and concessions. We recommend trying their famous Chihuahua sandwich and grabbing some other goodies while you’re waiting for the movie to start. But if you don’t want to get something from the diner – you don’t have to! You can bring your own snacks and food, so you can set up your own little picnic in the back of your car or truck.

Rain or shine, Stars & Stripes opens at 7:30 p.m. every Friday – Sunday. Located just outside of Central Lubbock, this family-friendly gem has kept the tradition of drive-in movies alive. 

They have three screens for moviegoers to choose from. A unique double feature that’s paired weekly plays on each screen, so you get to see both movies for the price of one ticket.

Adult (12+): $9.00

Military & First Responders (with a valid ID): $7.00

Children (4-11): $6.00

Kids 3 and under: Free
