With Labor Day around the corner and many military reunions in the planning stages, the Visit Lubbock team put together a list of fall activities to take your itinerary to the next level. Whether you want to dive into history or take part in the seasonal spirit, there are many accessible activities for veterans and their families to immerse in. Take a look below and be inspired for your next military reunion in Lubbock, Texas.
Since October 2002, the Silent Wings Museum has shared the history the glider pilots trained in Lubbock for service during World War II. Along with the stories and footage of their service, the museum offers on display a C-47 airplane and a multi-media theater for visitors to enjoy!
For all things wild west, travel back in time with a stop by the National Ranching Heritage Center (NRHC). The NRHC offers educational programs and exhibits about ranching history and contemporary ranching challenges. With over 50 historical structures that were once in use, the museum offers a glimpse into the evolution of ranching throughout America. Each Thursday at 10:30 a.m., trolley tours are available for guests to tour the 27-acre site and provide an in-depth look museum and historical park.
The Lubbock Gun & Blade Show is taking place October 8 – 9 at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. During the show, attendees can sell, trade, and buy guns, knives, holsters and more. For more information, visit the event website.
A trip to At’l Do Farms is the perfect way to welcome fall. This farm is home to many attractions like the corn maze, barnyard, corn cannon, hayride pumpkin patch, pumpkin hollow and campfires.
Be sure to check out The Windmill Grill. This concession stand is stocked with delicious fall foods like the brisket wrap, corn in a cup, and fresh apple blossom!
