Weekends are for the boys! Whether you are planning a bachelor trip, staycation, or night on the town, Lubbock is the perfect spot to kick back, crack a cold one and bond with the boys! I’ve created the ultimate guy’s guide to the 806 filled with our favorite “Hub City” hangouts.

Friday

After a morning of travel, grab the guys and head over to Dirk’s for lunch. You can’t go wrong with any of their chicken dishes, but their juicy, fried tenders dunked in-house ketchup served with crispy strips of fried okra can’t be beaten. While you’re there, try one of their craft cocktails and plan out the rest of your day.

Don’t leave Lubbock without something to remember us by! Stop by some of our favorite Lubbock local shops. The One Stop Man Shop, Signature Stag is home to clothing, casuals and footwear. Shop their Lubbock University line or ask about their custom logo designs.

Are you team cowboy hat or baseball cap? Whatever you decide, there’s a shop for you. Take a trip to Flint Custom Hat Shop to design your own straw or felt hat.

At Lee-Elmer’s, you can shop their inventory or design custom leather goods from leather patch baseball caps to wallets and everything in between.

After treating yourself to a few one-of-a-kind additions to your closet, hone your skills or try something new at our Lubbock Texas Axe Throwing Hall. Grab Axxe’s is the perfect place for a competition between the guys. Grab a drink from the bar and enjoy a friendly game of axe throwing, pool or darts. I hope you made a bet on who would win because drinks are next! Who’s buying?

End the night with dinner, drinks and live music at Two Docs Brewing Co. Check out their food truck calendar to see what street eats you can try on your trip!

Saturday

Start the morning off right with brunch at The Brewery LBK. Whether you end up pairing a pint with The Oaxacan Sunrise Burger or enjoying a tasting with the Chilaquiles, you can’t go wrong with this brunch and beer combo.

After fueling up for the day, explore one of Lubbock’s sports activities. Off the Tee is Lubbock’s only destination for indoor golf. BYOB and up your game with this indoor golf simulator.

If you want to get out of the city for a while, there’s no better place to be than on the water. Located at Dunbar Historic Lake along the Brazos River, SUPLBK is home to paddleboarding and kayaking experiences fit for everyone. It’s the perfect way to relax, soak up the West Texas sunshine and catch up with the guys.

Lubbock is ranked 47th best disc golf destination in the United States and 6th in Texas. If you’re in the mood for another competition, grab the boys and choose from one of eight courses in “Hub City.”

Between your afternoon activities, get your eat on at Evie Mae’s BBQ for a lunch filled with melt-in-your-mouth brisket, scratch-made sides and strawberry pie. Is your mouth watering yet?

When you’re ready for dinner, head out to Triple J Chophouse & Brew Co. Start off with their Choppy Bob Nachos, pick out your cut of tender steak, and enjoy a house brew and live music. Pro tip: Don’t leave without trying the award-winning praline bread pudding for dessert!

Now that you’ve been initiated into “Hub City” culture, you must know Saturday night in Lubbock means one of two things: live music or college sports. Snag tickets to a live sporting event or watch a game at one of Lubbock’s many sports bars.

If music is more your speed, you’ve come to the right place. Catch one of your favorite artists or comedians at the Cactus Theater, Cook’s Garage, The Buddy Holly Hall or The Blue Light Live. Home to many music legends, you’ll always find something good to listen to in Lubbock.

Sunday

After a weekend full of good eats, drinks and making memories, it’s time to take it easy. Start with a late breakfast at STACKED. They’re serving everything from Chicken and Waffles with Peach Syrup to Sirloin Steak & Eggs to the 3 Egg Brisket Burrito. Check out their menu ahead of time and make sure to show up hungry!

Before you hit the road, stop by The Range. With drinks, outdoor games, 60+ tees and four washer pits and golden tee machines, there’s plenty to keep you entertained before the trip back home.
