Here in the “Hub City,” we like a little competition. Whether it’s a rivalry at Jones AT&T Stadium or a tip-off at Rip Griffin Center, sports fans find the lineup of sporting events in Lubbock to be extensive. So, here it is, five must-see sporting events to catch this fall!

The AGN Lubbock Open-Valorant LAN Event at Contender eSports

Friday, Sept. 17 – Sunday, Sept. 19

Catch the action at this virtual battle, where Lubbock is one of three cities in the country hosting the eSorts tour. This gaming event involves 24 teams competing for a $3,000 prize pool.

West Texas Pro Tennis Open at McLeod Tennis Center

Friday, Sept. 24 – Sunday, Oct. 3

Mark your calendars for the opening tennis match for this popular showdown. With both men and women’s events, it’s sure to be a week of heated exchanges. 

NIRSA Region IV Soccer Super Regional at Berl Huffman Athletic Complex and Texas Tech West Rec Fields

Friday, Oct. 29 – Sunday, Oct. 31

The game is on as 18 men’s teams and 12 women’s teams compete for three bids each for the NIRSA Soccer National Championships. This tournament is sure to be a battle of talent and grit!

NCAA Division II South Central Regional Championship at Lubbock Christian University Cross Country Course

Saturday, Nov. 6

Save the date for November 6 as men and women take to the Lubbock Christian University cross country course. You’ll find the talent is in no short supply at this race.

Texas Tech vs Iowa State at Jones AT&T Stadium

Saturday, Nov. 13

It’s time to chant “Raider Power” and “Wreck ‘Em” as the 2021 Red Raider football season kicks off. Among the home games to catch is Texas Tech vs. Iowa State. Join football fans in the Jones for this ultimate showdown.

After the second half, fourth quarter, or whenever they start the bus, make your way to local eateries like Spanky’s for burgers and fried cheese sticks, or Capital Pizza to fill up on hand tossed pies!
