When it comes to our four-legged friends, there isn’t much we wouldn’t do for them. That’s why we have thoughtfully curated an itinerary suited for a day on the down with our furry best friends. From running trails and dog parks to dog treat cafes and restaurants that are welcoming to the pups, this fall experience the “Hub City” with your K-9 in mind!

Who doesn’t enjoy a trip with their furry companion? In Lubbock, many of our local hotels love your pet as much as you do. The new Cotton Court Hotel in downtown Lubbock boasts pet-friendly rooms while providing a courtyard for you and your pup to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. Other pet-friendly accommodations in the “Hub City” include Hyatt Place, Staybridge Suites, Hilton Garden Inn and Home2 Suites.

Going out with your tongue out

Lubbock is on the rise for its dog-friendly parks, places and events. For an afternoon of play, be sure to stop by these top dog parks in the city!

“Hub City” Unleashed

Inside of Clapp Park, you and your dog can enjoy the 1.4 acres of fenced area, double gates, sidewalks, restrooms, benches, covered benches, shade trees and dog-friendly water fountain. I don’t know about you, but this sounds like a dog’s dream!

Canyon Dog Run Park

With over 3 acres of fenced grass, your dog is going to have a doggone good time. Don’t worry, there are double fences, separate spaces for small and big dogs and dog-friendly water fountains located nearby. We know they are sure to work up a sweat!

You will be pleased to find several restaurants, breweries and wineries that accommodate pets on the patio – many of which provide a bowl of water and/or treat on-site. Grab the leash and check out these local favorites!

Two Docs Brewing Co. | 502 Texas Ave

While enjoying a craft beer, your dog can bask in the sun or lay in the shade at Two Docs Brewing Co. This pet-friendly atmosphere creates a space for dogs and their owners to relax, listen to live music, and play yard games as the sun sets and into night.

Bier Haus | 2009 Broadway Street

At Bier Haus, dogs reign king. Not only is this German-inspired hangout the ideal place to grab a bite and get a good drink before, during or after any game, but it’s also a great location to cool off with a Chilton in hand for you and a water bowl for the dog! Each pupper will appreciate the fresh air, and turfgrass provided by the outdoor bar.

J’s Creamery | 5101 82nd Street

We aren’t the only ones who enjoy a sweet treat. Satisfy your sweet tooth while you’re here and run by J’s creamery to grab a sundae and a pup cone. Your doggy will have dreams of this delicious dessert for many nights to come. Guaranteed.

Just for the Dogs

If you’re looking for toys, treats, or time to play, there are plenty of places in the LBK that offer pet essentials and luxuries that every good boy and girl is sure to wag their tail for. My top picks for spoiling my best friend include Urban Pet Market, The Downtown Lubbock Farmers Market and Three Dog Bakery.

If you are considering bringing your furry friend on your next trip to Lubbock, don’t hesitate! The “Hub City” is only getting more pet-friendly with time.
