Known for its fresh, locally sourced produce and goods, this family-run business has become a favorite among locals looking for homegrown products. Idalou Harvest Co. is a must-visit for anyone looking to support local farmers and businesses.

History

Married in 1969, Connie and Dan Williams ran a family orchard in Colorado for decades. Moving to Texas in 1992, the family later founded Williams Cellars in 2012. This vineyard rebranded to the familiar Idalou Harvest Co. in 2017 and has produced locally sourced wine and cider for over 10 years.

Under new co-ownership in 2023, Linda Mann and Connie Williams pour their hearts into maintaining Idalou’s history while looking forward to innovation. Providing vineyard tours during the week and farmers markets on the weekends, these co-owners stay busy year-round.

Products

Fruits & Vegetables

Depending on the season, shoppers find peaches, plums, apples, melons and berries sourced from nearby farms. Idalou’s greenhouse has potatoes, asparagus, zucchini, lettuce, squash and tomato plants. The property’s 55 acres maintain grape vines alongside peach and apple trees.

Idalou is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays and tours of the orchard are available upon request! Visit Idalou this fall for the ultimate apple orchard and pumpkin harvest experience.

Wine

Idalou produces sweet red and white wine and dry reds available for tasting and purchase. Idalou’s wine is made from estate grapes and quantity fluctuates yearly based on weather conditions. Most wines are priced between $20 to $30 and each bottle label features artwork by a local artist.

Events

More than its products, Idalou regularly hosts community-driven events. During the fall, this business hosts Halloween costume contests, pumpkin painting, cooking classes and more. Idalou works with The Happy Kitchen/ La Cocina Alegre to provide healthy cooking classes to the public. Each class includes a nutrition lesson followed by a seasonal recipe demonstration.

Every Saturday, Idalou’s farmers market brings together the best of the region’s local agriculture. Join in on the fun to hand-pick fresh fruits and vegetables, explore unique art pieces and purchase baked goods.

From vineyard tours to weekly farmers markets, Idalou Harvest Co. is the place to enjoy seasonal produce and connect with local growers. Make your way to this West Texas gem for a Saturday morning adventure or pop by during the week for fresh veggies. See you at the orchard!
