August 1- Trivia Night

Trivia lovers will have the opportunity to compete in six rounds of trivia on Monday from 7-9 p.m. at Two Docs Brewing Co. Bring yourself or a team of 12 or fewer for a night of fun and be sure to stop by the Farm to Fork Food Truck for dinner!

August 5 – First Friday Art Trail

A visit to Lubbock during the first of the month is not complete without stopping by the First Friday Art Trail (FFAT) hosted by LHUCA. FFAT is a free, self-guided art tour held in the Lubbock Cultural District in partnership with a variety of art centers, museums, galleries, and businesses located downtown. While there, enjoy live music, food trucks, and art from local, national, and international artists.

August 5- Dinner in the Vines

Join the Llano Estacado Winery for a four-course meal with unique wine pairings for each course. Llano will be hosting Chef Angie Ragan, who was a competitor on Next Level Chef hosted by Gordon Ramsey and is now the owner and executive chef of Salt by Angie. This experience will be full of beautiful views and delicious food. Wine club members will receive discounted pricing on tickets. August 5- Night to Remember – Casino Royale Gala

Casino Royale Gala will be raising funds to support Catholic Charities. The Gala will be held at the Texas Tech University McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center and will feature great food, entertainment, casino-style fun, a silent auction, and, most importantly, a chance to make an impact on our community.

August 5 – Chad Prather & The Raggamuffins – Live at Cactus Theater

Chad Prather has made numerous appearances on Fox News, CNN, A&E, The Blaze, MSN and more, and his talents have been praised by the likes of Southern Living, Nash Country Weekly and Newsweek. The comedian, musician and armchair philosopher is joined by a trio of Texas musicians to put on a one-of-a-kind experience bridging his love for comedy and music into a memorable evening you won’t soon forget!

August 6- Buddy Holly’s 85th Birthday Celebration

Join us at The Buddy Holly Hall to celebrate Buddy Holly’s 85th Birthday with special guest Duane Eddy, Peter Frampton and more!

August 6- Living History Saturdays

History comes to life at the National Ranching Heritage Center (NRHC) every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. this summer! Ranch host volunteers will be in the historical park to answer questions, perform living history demonstrations, and give tours of selected structures. August 6- Sommelier Tour & Tasting

Wine connoisseurs will have the opportunity to see the production side of the winery, learn the history of Llano Estacado Winery and taste wine directly from tanks and barrels during the tour. Tours are available at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. A guided tasting experience will follow the tour. 

August 6- 14th Annual Vamos a Pescar, Let’s Go Fishing Event

Come and enjoy the 14th Annual Vamos a Pescar, Let’s Go Fishing Event hosted by Los Hermanos Familia. The event is free to the public and uses fishing as a hook to bring families together. 

August 6- Cory Morrow – Live at Cactus Theater

Pulling back the curtains, letting us in, and letting the chips fall where they may– this is Cory Morrow today. Watch live from the Cactus Theater as Morrow shares his latest studio release, “Whiskey & Pride.”

August 6- Prairie Blossom Marketplace 

Lubbock locals and visitors are invited to shop artisan, boutique and farmer’s market goods at Prairie Blossom Marketplace. Grab your pets and family and head out for a day of shopping and food tastings. The market is open Saturday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Sunday 1 – 4 p.m. on the first and third weekends of the month.

August 7- American Aquarium – Live at Cactus Theater

Known for making the political personal, American Aquarium and frontman BJ Barham have built a devoted fan base over 15 years of sold-out shows. Their take on music blends rock, alternative country, and Americana that tells stories to bring people together.

August 7- Sunday Funday at Cotton Court Hotel

Visitors 21 and over are invited to Beat the Heat at the Cotton Court Hotel every Sunday through August 28. Guests are welcome to enjoy a Poptail at the Pool Bar with an individual pizza from the kitchen. Admission is $10 per person.

August 11- Barks and Brews

Load up your furry friends and head to The Midnight Shift at the Cotton Court Hotel. Pets can enjoy dog treats and fun in the courtyard while you sip the finest brews from The Brewery LBK. The event is open to the public every Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.

August 12 – Buddy Holly Songwriter’s Showcase

The public is invited to hear the best-of-the-best songs written during the annual Songwriters Retreat. You don’t want to miss this special performance honoring Buddy Holly’s life and legacy. The showcase features Gary Nicholson, Beth Nielsen Chapman, and friends. Get your tickets now!

August 13- Blacksmithing Fundamentals

Join the Blacksmithing Fundamentals clinic to learn beginner blacksmithing techniques and craft your project piece. All safety equipment and tools will be provided. Tickets are available for purchase.

August 13- The Great Epilepsy Steakout

The Great Epilepsy Steakout includes a delicious steak dinner, music, silent and live auctions, casino games and dancing. The event supports The Epilepsy Foundation Texas which provides services to children and adults struggling with seizures. Tickets and sponsorships are open to the public.

August 16- Food Truck Alley

Lubbock residents and visitors are invited to enjoy local food trucks during their lunch hour, between 11 a.m. – 2 p.m in the Civic Center parking lot.

August 17- Sharpening Your Digital Edge: Business, Social Media & Cyber Conference

Harness the power of social media and eCommerce for your business! The Texas Tech University Small Business Development Center is hosting this one-day, action-packed conference designed to provide attendees with new tactics, resources, and best practices in eCommerce, marketing and online business protection.

August 19- Jason Boland & The Stragglers – Live at Cactus Theater

Join Jason Boland & The Stragglers at the Cactus Theater to experience their new sci-fi-based album, The Light Saw Me, which touches on old legends, conspiracies and other accounts that run contrary to reality. 

August 19- Kolby Cooper & Pecos and The Rooftops – Live at Cooks Garage

Kolby Cooper & Pecos and The Rooftops with special guest Dylan Wheeler are coming to the outdoor stage at Cook’s Garage! Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.

August 20- The Band of Heathens – Live at Cactus Theater

Two years after starting their ninety-minute variety program, Good Time Supper Club, via zoom, The Band of Heathens are back together for their latest tour. Watch them live at Cactus Theater. Doors open at 6:50 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.

August 20- Lonestar Live – Concerts at The Amp

Join us at the Lone Star Amphitheater for a night of music, barbecue, food trucks, ice-cold drinks, and live music by Kaleb McIntire Band and Logan Samford Band. The event is open to the public. Tickets are $20.

August 21- The Isaacs – Live at Cactus Theater

The Isaacs are a multi-award-winning family group that began singing 36 years ago. Enjoy their unique style that blends tight family harmony with contemporary acoustic at Cactus Theater. 

August 21- Aaron Lewis and The Stateliners Tour – Live at Buddy Holly Hall

Aaron Lewis grew up listening to his grandparents’ country music 8-tracks. His roots inspired the multi-platinum frontman to return to his origins. Join him as he debuts his latest album, Frayed at Both Ends, his most personal and unplugged work.

August 24 – Charley Crockett and The Blue Drifters – Live at Buddy Holly Hall

Country Western artist Charley Crockett is coming to Lubbock! Tickets are available now. Doors open at 7 p.m. and Charley will take the stage at 8 p.m.

August 26- Midland – Live at Cooks Garage

Midland, a Texas-native band, is bringing their Last Resort Tour to Cook’s Garage. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.

August 26- Moses Snow sings the hits of Elvis – Live at Cactus Theater

Listen to The King’s biggest hits performed by 19-year-old Moses Snow alongside Caldwell Collective band. Tickets are sure to sell out so get yours now!

August 27- West Fest with Ice Cube – Live at Cook’s Garage

Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame inductee Ice Cube and Cypress Hill bring the West Coast to West Texas at Cook’s Garage with special guest Bone Thugs N Harmony! Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.

August 27- Salsa & Sangria Festival

Salsa & Sangria is back! Come out to Llano Estacado to taste some of the best salsas in the LBK. Alongside our salsa contest will be live music, food trucks, sangria & more. 

August 27- Black Business Market

Celebrate Black Business Month by supporting local Black Businesses hosted by the Black Business Expo. The market is free and there will be food trucks open to the public.

August 27- Caldwell Entertainment: Big Hits of Bon Jovi, Journey, Foreigner & Chicago – Live at Cactus Theater

The Caldwell Collective Band, joined by singers Brandon Gwinn, Jeff McCreight, Jason Fellers, Sheena Fadeyi and Kassidy King with guest horn-men Jacky Howard and Grady Alberts, will step on stage to honor the big hits of these four legendary, trendsetting bands. Tickets are on sale now!

August 28- A Salute to Conway & Loretta – Starring Twitty & Lynn – Live at Cactus Theater

Join country music duo Twitty & Lynn as they perform the songs of their grandparents Conway Twitty & Loretta Lynn and tell intimate family stories. Tickets are available to purchase. Doors open at 6:20 p.m. and the show starts at 7:00 p.m.

August 30 – Journey – Live at United Supermarkets Arena

Don’t Stop Believin’! Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Famers, Journey, are making their way to the “Hub City.” Tickets are available now. Doors open at 7 p.m., and Journey will take the stage at 8 p.m.

August 31 – Wine & Yoga

Unwind with a night of wine and wellness at English Newsom Cellars. Angie Alspaugh, a certified yoga instructor, will help you focus on cultivating balance and peace within. Tickets are available to purchase on the winery’s website.
