The Lubbock Municipal Garden & Arts Center is excited to announce a new series of Bookmaking classes specifically designed for those seeking to enhance their skills and creativity. These classes, offered at a reduced rate to educators, provide an opportunity to learn the art of bookbinding, understand various techniques, and create beautiful, handcrafted books.
Bookmaking Workshop will be:
June 15 and June 22, Saturdays from ·9:00 AM – 12:00 PM at ·the Lubbock Garden & Arts Center
The instructor is Jane Lindsay, an award-winning local artist/photographer.
Course Highlights:
1. Introduction to Book Binding Techniques:
o Participants will learn about various bookbinding methods.
2. Materials and Tools:
o Students will explore different types of paper, thread, and cover materials commonly used in bookbinding.
3. Demonstration:
o The session will include a demonstration that will provide the participants with the knowledge for them to create their own books.
4. Collaboration:
o The classes encourage collaboration and idea-sharing among the educators.
