Foodie Favorites: Crumbl

As the door opens to Crumbl, Lubbock’s hottest new sweet treat, the smell of melted butter, chocolate and vanilla envelop chocolate chip cookie lovers. I don’t mean to be dramatic, but these are the best I have ever had (sorry, mom). Imagine a cookie so warm, melty and exceptionally dense and try not to drool. 

Head over to Crumbl on Milwaukee to pick up a box of not only the classics but also any of the rotating weekly flavors. With over 100 creative concoctions including chilled sugar, Reese’s peanut butter and Oreo, Crumbl fanatics await the Sunday night reveal. Although my personal favorite is their perfected classic, the Biscoff and Eggo Waffle flavors are at the top of my list! 

I may be a little biased toward this quaint, aesthetically pleasing bakery as it originated in Logan, Utah, a beautiful college town home to my alma mater, Utah State University. Memories of late-night study sessions fueled by Crumbl’s first batch of cookies in 2017 bring a wave of nostalgia with each bite. 

What I love most about this simple concept that turned into a nation-wide phenomenon is that we all can relate to the fond memories associated with a cookie. Whether it be baking with our loved ones as a child, licking the spoon or stealing a few cookie dough balls before they head to the oven, Crumbl has a way of bringing the little moments, the most important moments, to the surface for one delicious moment. 

The experience of eating a Crumbl cookie is unlike any other. When guests open the beloved #pinkbox to be instantly hit with a whiff of flawless combinations of flour and sugar, the mouthwatering begins. After carefully picking up the cookie, the first bite is always the most fulfilling. Soft and chewy dough followed by the sweet frosting, chips or other creative dressings is so satisfyingly sweet that the next bite will follow purely by instinct. We may all tell ourselves that we will only eat half but who are we kidding? These sweets are perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner or as a snack. Calories definitely don’t count here. In fact, do yourself a favor and maybe don’t even look that up… 

Although there is plenty of love listed in this recipe, the secret ingredient is undoubtedly the magic touch. This isn’t just the case for the cookies, either. The Crumbl Cream is whipped into little clouds of heaven packed with the amount of flavor so perfect, one might believe there is a scientific formula required to obtain such a taste.
