Take a look below at a list of local indoor sport facilities you can trust to host your next tournament.
Since 1977, this convention center has hosted numerous trade shows, cultural and concert performances and sporting events. In 2023, the arena hosted thousands during the USA Boxing National Junior Olympics and saw 4,624 attendees per day of the event. This 40,000 square foot multipurpose facility is in an ideal location near downtown for easy access to hotels and restaurants. There’s available parking and a pull-out bleacher seating area for 1,400 people.
Looking for a place to plan your next basketball or volleyball tournament? The Apex Event Center has four hardwood, multipurpose courts with up to 2,000 seats available. In the 60,000 square foot facility, there’s also a 15,000 square foot area for competitive cheerleading. The event center is proudly partnered with Premier Sportsplex, another multipurpose complex.
From basketball or volleyball tournaments to cheer or dance competitions, Premier Sportsplex has hosted them all. This complex is the largest recreational and team sports facility in Lubbock with 80,000 square feet of space. It holds four hardwood courts, a sport court and four racquetball courts. There is also a 33-foot rock climbing wall. Sportsplex is proudly partnered with Apex Event Center, another multipurpose complex.
Showcasing a 43,000 square foot space, this gymnasium features gymnastics equipment, a climbing wall, dance room and a multi-sport turf room. Rock Solid Athletics has 352 permanent seats with 200 additional portable floor seats. The facility also has locker rooms for athletes and officials.
If you’re ready to “bowl” down the competition, look no further than the South Plains Lanes. With 40 different lanes, a meeting room and a full-service pro shop, this facility has everything you could need for a tournament or league. This year it was a host to the Texas Firefighter Summer Games along with other events.
With the ability to host over 15,000 people, the United Supermarkets Arena on the Texas Tech campus is an ideal place for a tournament or competition.This summer, Lubbock Sports helped to host The Basketball Tournament. Sixteen teams of college basketball alumni competed across the floor with plenty of room to spare for a $1 million prize. The arena has an 81,017 square foot concourse area, and the arena floor is 31,916 square feet. There are also multiple meeting rooms located throughout the facility.
Lubbock Christian University is home to the Rip Griffin Center which can seat 1,950 people. An iconic feature of this arena is the 25’ x 9’ video board. The facility has one full court with four locker rooms. Two separate locker rooms are also available for officials.
On your mark, get set and go to the Sports Performance Center, one of the only three indoor track facilities in the state of Texas. It’s located on the Texas Tech campus and houses a 200-meter indoor, banked track. The venue is finished off with two high jump pits, two horizontal jump sand pits, two throw rings and a pole vault pit.
Get ready to dive into the Pete Ragus Aquatic Center. This indoor aquatic center holds a 50-meter pool that can be converted into two, eight lane 25-yard pools split by a diving wall. There are three 1-meter diving boards and two 3-meter diving boards. Everything in the aquatic center is timed using Daktronics Timing System and Touchpads along with a Daktronics Omni Scoreboard.
