Indulge your taste buds and sip Lubbock’s famous cocktail in five different ways. While we are partial to the original, a few local favorite restaurants put their unique twist on the tried and true recipe – taking it to a new level. You’re sure to find the local version you favor but we recommend sampling each concoction before you decide!
Classic Chilton
Caprock Cafe
You can never go wrong ordering the classic, especially from Caprock Cafe! If you are unfamiliar with the OG recipe, mix vodka with freshly squeezed lemon and club soda, topped with a salted rim. Trust us, it’s as refreshing as it sounds.
Hippie Juice Chilton
Flippers Tavern
Channel your free spirit with this cool take on Lubbock’s iconic drink. The Hippie Juice Chilton is made with Absolut Juice Pear & Elderflower Vodka and topped with fresh lemon juice and soda water.
Blueberry Chilton
The Funky Door Bistro & Wine Room
Add some sweetness to this traditionally tart drink. The trade for blueberry Western Sons vodka makes this cocktail take on a fruity profile, and locals are raving!
Jalapeno Chilton
Cafe J
Known for its martinis, this local favorite serves a popular spicy take on the Chilton with a muddled fresh jalapeno in a salt-rimmed glass. The bartender advises using Stoli cucumber to create a Cucumber Jalapeno Chilton. Your tastebuds will be howling.
Ruby Chilton
The West Table Kitchen and Bar
Our friends at The West Table Kitchen and Bar know a thing or two about how to expertly mix cocktails (because, yes, it is a science). We didn’t think the cocktail could take on more of a citrus body, but check out this version with Deep Eddy Ruby Red Grapefruit vodka, lemon and club soda for a citrus overload. It’s incredible.
