Grab some carrots and make your way over to Mackenzie Park where you’ll find one of the country’s largest prairie dog colonies. As you offer them treats, these charismatic creatures will scurry around, creating delightful moments for everyone in your party.
Visiting the National Ranching Heritage Center is like stepping back in time, where the rich history of American ranching unfolds through preserved historic buildings. Wander through the open-air museum to explore the exhibits that showcase the legacy of ranching and captivate the spirit of the American West.
Texas Tech is home to beautiful art pieces sprinkled throughout campus that represent the diverse cultures of its student body. Over 60 of these pieces are highlighted in a self guided tour on Texas Tech’s website. This tour is a great way to explore Texas Tech’s campus and view different architectural styles from artists all over the world.
For those who are looking to soak up some nice weather, make your way over to one of Lubbock’s disc golf courses. Mae Simmons and Mackenzie Park are two 18 hole courses that ensure a great time without breaking the bank. Both courses are set up for all skill levels. Grab a frisbee and head to the park!
