5 Events Worthy of a Road Trip to Lubbock this Year

It’s time to pack your bags and hit the road! Route your GPS to Lubbock, Texas for a West Texas road trip experience. From evenings spent at the state-of-the-art Buddy Holly Hall to nights in a cheering crowd of red and black under the Panhandle stars, there is no shortage of events in Lubbock this year.

Showing at Lubbock’s very own Buddy Holly Hall, The Book of Mormon is in town May 17- 19. This nine-time Tony Award-winning performance is one of the nation’s favorite shows of the century. Lainey Wilson brings her Country’s Cool Again Tour to Lubbock on October 10, 2024. Award-winning singer-songwriter and actress, Wilson won four ACM Awards, three CMT Music Awards and three PCCA Awards in 2023. Experience a lively atmosphere in the newly remodeled Jones AT&T Stadium this fall. A project costing over 242 million, the new and improved stadium will change Texas Tech University gamedays forever. The Carol of Lights is one of Texas Tech University’s largest annual events. The event begins with university choir holiday performances which are followed by the famous lightshow. The crowd celebrates as the campus illuminates with hundreds of thousands of red and white holiday lights.
