Now that the new school year has officially kicked off, it’s time to start filling your calendar with Texas Tech activities and events. Every Red Raider and Red Raider fan has a chance to get involved in everything from sporting events to the Carol of Lights. Check out these annual events that you shouldn’t miss!

Carol of Lights

Annual Carol of Lights

1. If you’re interested in hearing from some of the top lecturers and professors in the country, look no further than Texas Tech’s Presidential Lecture & Performance Series. The fall kicks off with a Pulitzer Prize-winning Playwright and an Academy Award-nominated Screenwriter for Stephen Spielberg. For season tickets and more information, click here.

2. Art lovers should be sure to visit Texas Tech’s School of Art for gallery and exhibit information. Landmark Arts, a program created to promote fines arts growth and development in the community, has a few current and upcoming exhibitions scheduled.

3. There are almost no Red Raiders, or Lubbockites, who have not enjoyed the annual Carol of Lights. With the flip of a switch, more than 25,000 colored lights will illuminate 13 buildings around Memorial Circle, The Engineering Key and the Broadway Entrance to the campus during the event. This year, mark your calendar for Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 6:30 p.m. Details are here.

4. Sports, sports, sports! As part of the Big 12 Conference, Texas Tech hosts an abundance of top-notch sporting events throughout the year. Football? Check. Volleyball? Check. Soccer? Check. Baseball? Check. And the list continues! Be sure your favorite Big 12 games are on the calendar this year by checking out the list here.
