Watch a Musical Under the Stars
Lubbock Moonlight Musicals inspires audiences throughout the summer with fun and exciting musicals at their amphitheatre located inside Mackenzie Park. Making use of the fantastic talent at Texas Tech, as well as students and actors from the Lubbock community, Lubbock Moonlight Musicals is able to produce shows that thrill their audiences. Whether you’re a frequent theater attendee or a first-timer, you can’t go wrong with a musical under the stars.
See a Lubbock Legend
Have you been working your way through our Bucket List? There are a few upcoming chances to cross this item off. This month, you can see Red Shahan and celebrate 50 years of great music with The Maines Brothers. Next month, make sure to see an intimate acoustic show with William Clark Green and Josh Abbott. New events are being added weekly, so keep checking our music page for more shows and concerts.
Slide the City then Salsa & Sangria (preferably in that order)
Make sure to clear your schedule for July 30! Not only do we love alliteration, but we love summertime fun, and nothing says “summer” like getting in your bathing suit and riding a record-breaking slip-and-slide. After you have the thrill of your life, toss on a Hawaiian shirt and you’re ready to relax at Salsa and Sangria Fest at Llano Estacado Winery. Want to slide some more? Go to the newly renovated Lubbock Water Rampage, open all summer long.
Go Out on a Thursday
Deciding where to be on a Thursday evening is a tough one in Lubbock. Do you go to Junior’s Listening Room for an intimate, artist-focused concert and have wine, or do you go downtown to McPherson Cellars’ beautiful patio and have wine or do you go with a larger crowd at Buddy Holly Center’s lively Summer Showcase and bring wine? No matter what you choose, you are sure to have a great time “wine-ding” down.
