_DSC0887The Lubbock Arts Festival continues for it’s 37th annual run next month! On Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19, the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center will host more than 150 booths showcasing the work of artists from around the nation displaying and selling original work in media such as painting, drawing, pottery, fiber, leather, jewelry, glass, wood and sculpture. Be sure to bring the kids along to visit the children’s center, where they can create their own works of art.

This year’s featured artist is world-renowned underwater photographer and Lubbock native, Berkley White. Although, it’s not often we see a sea lover come from our city, Berkely attributes his passion for water to time spent at his grandfather’s cabin on a Texas lake. While you can usually catch him in published works such as National Geographic, Discovery, BBC, and independent film productions, you can see him in person while you meet and greet with artists from all over the nation.

Quick Facts:

When:  Saturday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 19 from 12 – 5 p.m.

Where: Lubbock Memorial Civic Center, 1501 Mac Davis Lane

Cost: $4 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under
