The Depot Entertainment District, located in the heart of downtown Lubbock, offers a different genre of live musical talent through each door, a varied selection of food and drink options, art and entertainment. Whether you want a relaxing evening out or a night full of dancing and drinks, the Depot Entertainment District offers great options for any occasion. Here are a few of the district’s must-see spots:

Cactus Theater
With a rich history rooted in Lubbock, the Cactus Theater originally stood as a neighborhood movie theater from 1938-1958. Since the mid-1990s the theater has been transformed into a music venue, helping cultivate local talent while attracting performers from around the state and country. With multiple performances taking place almost every week, the Cactus Theater continues to be a local hot spot that both visitors and residents of Lubbock love to check out.

The Blue Light Live
Known as the Americana music hub of Lubbock, the Blue Light Live supports both local and regional songwriters for Singer/Songwriter Nights with Jerry Serrano, as well as sold out concerts on the weekends from artists nationwide. The intimate atmosphere offers a unique setting unlike any other in Lubbock, creating a relationship with the artists that is hard to come by. With great drinks and amazing music, the Blue Light Live is a must-see spot.

Triple J Chophouse & Brew Co.
Delicious food and an in-house brewing company makes this restaurant a staple in Lubbock. Looking for something with an international flair? Head to La Diosa Cellars to enjoy Spanish-inspired tapas and a great selection of wine while you dine in an eclectic setting unlike any other. Showcasing art throughout the bistro and hosting live music nights, La Diosa offers a one-of-a-kind experience that visitors can’t miss. Head to La Diosa for a light lunch, a drink with friends or a pitcher of their signature sangria.

McPherson Cellars is owned by the McPherson family who have been a part of the Texas grape-growing and winemaking industry for over 40 years. Winemaker Kim McPherson has been successful in the business, to date winning over 600 medals in state, national and international competitions. In the summer, McPherson Cellars hosts weekly patio nights at the winery with live music, food trucks and, of course, wine. Tours and tastings are also available during their hours of operation throughout the year.
