The Polar Express Train Ride
Dates: November: 21-22, 27-29; December: 3-6, 9-13, 15-23, 26
The Polar Express™ returns to the West Texas & Lubbock Railway, recreated to match all the sights and sounds of the beloved story. Picture the excitement of children dressed in pajamas with golden tickets clutched in their hands as they board the train and prepare to embark on their journey to the North Pole. It just isn’t the holidays without Market Street and Ballet Lubbock’s annual production of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker. This year’s performances will feature Ballet Lubbock favorites Bethany Lowrie and Amar Ramasar as well as the rest of the Ballet Lubbock Company. Come find your inner Sugar Plum Fairy and join Ballet Lubbock for Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, a Lubbock Holiday Tradition. Find more info here.
Candlelight at the Ranch
Date: December 11 & 12
Candlelight at the Ranch is a favorite Lubbock event. Thousands of luminaries will line the paths to historic structures from 6 to 9 p.m. December 11-12 at the National Ranching Heritage Center as volunteer Ranch Hosts dress in period clothing to recreate holiday scenes of trimming trees, playing traditional music and gathering around a campfire on a cold winter night. Lubbock Parks and Recreation has hosted Santa Land for the past 58 years, and admission for all ages is free. Approximately 46,000 people visit Santa Land each year to see the festive holiday village with its huge lighted Christmas tree, animated displays, bonfires, traditional holiday scenes and of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus. Miracles Christmas Parade
Date: December 12 at 6 p.m.
Gather family and friends to celebrate the holidays during the annual Miracles Christmas Parade. This popular annual event parades down historic 34th street and features holiday floats, classic cars, marching bands and a few special holiday guests. Find more info here.
