About

Kick off the holiday season at the 44th Annual Candlelight at the Ranch where you and your family can experience Christmas on the frontier. The event is FREE (suggested donation of $5) and will be on December 9 & 10 from 6:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the National Ranching Heritage Center in Lubbock, TX.

Holiday scenes will be recreated by volunteers in 15 historic structures such as the 1838 El Capote Log Cabin, 1886 XIT Ranch headquarters, 1888 Matador Half-Dugout and 1909 Queen-Anne style Barton House. You will have maps pointing the way to each structure.

The lighted pathways are wheelchair and stroller accessible as you pass cowboys camped out near their horses and brewing coffee over a campfire. You can purchase hot cocoa or apple cider while enjoying live music in the decorated 6666 Barn and on the Campbell patio. Meet Santa Claus in the Pitchfork Pavilion and even get some Christmas shopping done at Cogdell’s General Store inside the National Ranching Heritage Center.

VIP Experience Passes will be available to purchase November 8th. Passes are $75 each and include:
– One reserved parking spot
– Early entry for you and up to 6 guests (7 total) from 6 – 6:30 p.m.
– Holiday refreshments
– Support of ranching heritage preservation and educational programming at the National Ranching Heritage Center.

Passes are specific to one evening (Dec. 9th OR 10th).

We look forward to celebrating the Holiday season with you at the Ranch!
