Ladies and gentlemen—it’s officially football season! Lubbock is booming with new students and families ready to take on this semester. Whether you’re a resident football fanatic or new to the scene, here’s your guide to game day in Lubbock, Texas.
Plan Ahead
For traveling Red Raider fans, book a hotel within walking distance of the Estadio Jones AT&T. Across the street and near Lubbock’s downtown is the Hotel. Enjoy fine dining and drinks at the Pecan Grill & Lounge, which regularly hosts live entertainment and has a spacious patio. Across the highway are the Residence Inn y Marriott Courtyard. Book your stay for easy access to the game!
Secure your game day tickets ahead of time on the TTU Football Ticket webpage. Tailgating occurs before and during the game on the Texas Tech campus. Arrive a few hours before kickoff to enjoy live music, food trucks and pop-up shopping.
Hosting a watch party? We’ve got you covered. Stop by any local United Supermarkets o Calle del mercado to grab food essentials. Don’t forget to pick up a case of NIL Red Raider official beer, the Raiderland Red Pale Ale by Two Docs Brewing Co.
A Look into the New Stadium
After $220 million in renovations and a year of work, the Jones AT&T Stadium upgrades are complete.
All barricades and barriers have been removed, and gates 8 and 10 are now accessible. The renovations provide a seamless game day entry and exit. The new south end zone allows fans full access to the stadium without having to exit and re-enter.
With the introduction of two grab-and-go marketplaces, Texas Tech has launched multiple food options to simplify meal purchasing. Visit Big Chicken, Shaquille O’Neal’s chicken franchise, specializing in home-cooked meals with a trendy twist.
Try Texas Tech’s newest technological addition to the game day experience: StadiumDrop. Fans can order food and drinks directly to their seats. StadiumDrop also provides a speedy concession experience with express pick-up lanes. Download the official Texas Tech mobile app or the StadiumDrop app to access these features!
The Jones is still a cashless venue, so be sure to bring your credit or debit cards!
Celebrate with Drinks
Wrap up your game day experience by grabbing drinks with friends at one of Lubbock’s favorite nighttime spots. Head to BierHaus on Broadway Street, a multi-level venue with margaritas and brews available all night. Next door is the original Chimy's. Order the loaded fries and a house margarita for the ultimate post-game experience.
