November 1 – El castillo asombroso

Travel back to medieval times with The Amazing Castle exhibition at the Science Spectrum. Visitors can explore eight themed and interactive areas. This whimsical exhibit is on display every weekday and is included with the standard museum admission fee.

A limited-time exhibition centering around the famous ancient Egyptian ruler King Tut and his tomb is at the Science Spectrum. The exhibit hosts 130 artifacts including the golden mummy case and the bejeweled pharaoh himself. It’s available to the public during regular museum hours daily until November 26.

Christopher Cross burst into the music scene in 1980 and he’s bursting into the Lubbock music scene Live at the Cactus Theater! With a career spanning over four decades, he’s won five Grammys, an Oscar, a Golden Globe, an Emmy nomination and five Top 10 singles. The doors will open at 6:50 p.m. with the show starting at 7:30 p.m.

Texas Tech’s School of Theatre and Dance is putting on its version of “The Threepenny Opera,” a western-themed musical filled to the brim with hijinks. Shows are happening through November 5 with curtain times at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday and 2:00 p.m. for the Sunday show.

November 1 Yoga en el parque

Start your day off feeling grounded and relaxed with a one-hour session of Yoga in the Park. This event is hosted every Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at Adventure Park.

November 2Tot Come & Go

A weekly series is happening every Tuesday and Thursday for kids ages 2 to 4 years old put on by the Science Spectrum inside the Lubbock Children’s Museum. The event is a free come-and-go style with hands-on, age-appropriate crafts, story times and science experiments. There’s no reservation needed and if you wanted to dress to a theme, November’s is fall and Thanksgiving.

Texas Tech continues Big 12 play at home on Thursday with kickoff at 6:00 p.m. The Red Raiders will play the TCU Horned Frogs at Jones AT&T Stadium! If you can’t make it to the game in person, find your favorite sports bar to watch the game.

Taco Tuesdays and Thirsty Thursdays combine at Velvet Taco’s “Party on the Patio” series every Thursday night. The party starts at 4 p.m. with discounts on tacos, chips and queso, Miller Lite drafts and margaritas. 

A visit to Lubbock during the first of the month is only complete by stopping by the First Friday Art Trail (FFAT) hosted by LHUCA. FFAT is a free, self-guided art tour in the Lubbock Cultural District in partnership with various art centers, museums, galleries, and downtown businesses. While there, enjoy live music, food trucks, and art from local, national, and international artists.

Students from TTUHSC are partnering with the Science Spectrum every Friday through December 1 to read stories to younger kids and help build their love for books. This activity will take place at either 10:15 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. It’s perfect for children ages 1-3 years old.

Celebrate the American rancher and the continuation of the ranching story as this event recognizes the recipients of the National Golden Spur Award and the Ranching Heritage Association Working Cowboy Award. Buddy Holly Hall hosts this award ceremony and has an exclusive acoustic set performed by country music superstar Cody Johnson.

The South Plains SPCA is hosting an adoption day every Saturday starting at 11:00 a.m. The dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered and on a monthly heartworm preventative. If you’re not a dog person, there’s cats up for adoption too. Find more information on their Facebook page.

This musical night of storytelling will take place in The Buddy Holly Hall with the show starting at 7:00 p.m.

Enjoy the top touring tribute band starring Donna Huber as “Shania Twin” as they take the Cactus Theater stage. Watch as they faithfully reproduce the Canadian country pop artist’s greatest hits, including “Man! I Feel Like a Woman,” “That Don’t Impress Me Much,” “You’re Still the One,” and more! Doors open at 6:20 p.m. with the show starting at 7:00 p.m.

Watch as one of the most influential groups in the Tejano/Norteño music scene today takes the Helen Devitt Jones Theater stage at Buddy Holly Hall. The unique and extraordinary style of music brings the group to life. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the show will start at 7:00 p.m.

November 6Two Docs Trivia Night!

Watch, play and enjoy The Price is Right Live, an interactive stage show that allows eligible audience members to “come on down” and play classic games. Contestants can win cash, sought-after appliances, epic vacations and a brand-new car. The show will take the stage of Buddy Holly Hall at 7:30 p.m.

Enjoy the vocals of country legend Cory Morrow as he continues his 25th anniversary tour. He doesn’t keep himself to one topic but sings about everything in life from strippers to Jesus all with equal fervor. Morrow will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. and play through all of the twists and turns from his career.

Join the Silent Wings Museum in the honoring of local veterans. There will be free admission to the museum from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. A remembrance ceremony will be hosted at 11 a.m., showings of the documentary film “Arlington: Field of Honor” will take place from 12 – 4:00 p.m., live music performances and more.

Be a part of the celebration as Mickey, Minnie and all of their pals get ready to throw a huge costume party at Buddy Holly Hall. There’s one problem though, mysterious weather keeps interrupting the fun. Watch as Team Spidey tries to save the Costume Palooza. Doors open at 3 p.m. with the show starting at 4 p.m. Audience members are encouraged to dress up for the fun-filled experience

Celebrate the Armed Forces with the Little Red Nursery. A military discount will be available for both past and current service men and women. The discount will be applied at both locations in honor of Veterans Day.

November 11Fundraising Car Show

Texas Royalz is hosting a fundraising event for the local soccer team Lubbock Cruz Azul Spartans. The funds raised will go toward helping the purchasing of equipment and help with out of town tournament expenses. People are encouraged to join in the show, there will be 12 awards for 12 different categories which will be voted by players, kids and coaches.

Showcasing a diverse array of talented entrepreneurs, artists and makers, this event will boast a celebration of creativity and culture with unique gifts and delicious food to be found around every corner. 

Memorabilia dealers across the Hub City are coming together to buy, sell and trade items. This show is a family-friendly event with free door prizes offered every hour!

November 11Pavos con Tots

The Little Red Nursery is hosting a craft time to build your little one’s creativity. The timeless craft of creating Pinecone Turkeys will be taught to all attendees. These turkeys are the perfect decoration or seasonal gift for any Thanksgiving visitor.

Crafting is fun for the whole family, especially when it can be used as a centerpiece for a holiday celebration. The Little Red Nursery is hosting a crafting session for a cornucopia of fun that will inspire any fall gathering.

November 11Kid’s Winter Olympics

Competing has never been so fun – Buckner Family Pathways is hosting a Winter Olympics. There will be games, snacks and an award ceremony! This event is completely free and open to the community.

Enjoy Lubbock’s Annual Veterans Day Parade as it pays tribute to all local veterans. This event is designed to bring the community together to support veterans and their families. The 2023 theme centers around “Generations of Patriotism.” The parade route will be located downtown. You can find the exact route on the event’s website.

Listen in as the Caldwell Kids and Lubbock Youth Orchestra combine their talents for two nights of incredible music. There will be featured vocalists backed by a full rhythm section, background vocals and the entire youth orchestra. This historic showcase will take place in the Civic Center Auditorium – shows start at 7:30 p.m. 


November 12RealDeal Photo-A-Thon

Create a snapshot in time and give back to the local homeless community in the same 15 minutes. RealDealPhotos created this Photo-A-Thon fundraiser to benefit the Grace Campus. Sessions are donation-based and all donations will be used to provide a Thanksgiving meal for the Grace Campus. Walk-ins will be accepted but if you want to be sure to get a spot you can book through RealDealPhotos Facebook page.

November 14Literary Lubbock 2023

Calling any and all book lovers across the South Plains to attend Lubbock Literary, an annual event celebrating its 20th anniversary. The program features six recent and notable books published by the Texas Tech University Press (TTUP). This year the event is being emceed by the iconic musician and storyteller Andy Wilkinson.

November 14 BBB Fall Toast

Join in for the inaugural event toasting better business, reconnecting, networking and celebrating success. Live music will be provided by Big Joe Walker. This event will be held in the National Ranching Heritage Center from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. All proceeds will go toward student scholarships.

Back due to high demand is Blackwater Draw! Listen as they perform an encore of the show presented on October 28. The band of local youngsters are bringing your favorite country, rock and blues songs to life along with introducing their newest originals. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.

November 15The Queen’s Cartoonists

Watch as your favorite cartoon classics come to life onstage at the next installation of Texas Tech’s Presidential Lecture & Performance Series. The Queen’s Cartoonists combine the two art forms of music and animation by playing the iconic soundtracks from over 100 years of animation. The concert will be hosted in the Allen Theatre on the Tech campus.

Don’t miss the classic father-daughter pairing between Ryan O’Neal and Tatum O’Neal and their performance in “Paper Moon.” The 1973 American road comedy-drama will be screened at two different times: a matinee showing at 2:20 p.m. and an evening showing at 7:20 p.m. Vintage shorts will start 20 minutes before the movie starts so be sure to get there early!

Watch one of the most requested shows of all time at the Cactus Theater! The Caldwell Collective is coming together to put on an incredible night of music and hits from the Eagles. It’s guaranteed to be a nostalgic journey that will keep you on your feet all night long. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. with the show starting at 7:30 p.m.

Watch as Tyrus takes the Cactus Theater stage for the first time. The renowned wrestling superstar, bestselling author and comedian performs his Nuff Said Tour with a rare voice of reason and is an authentic storyteller who never holds back. The show starts at 7:00 p.m.

November 24baile sucio en concierto

Immerse yourself in a timeless romance and experience one of the most memorable movies in a new and exciting way. Dirty Dancing in Concert will be the film’s first live film-to-concert experience. Enjoy the hit film with a live band and singers performing the film’s iconic songs. Doors will open at 7:00 p.m. with the show starting at 8:00 p.m.

Lace up your skates and take a spin around the ice rink at Adventure Park. Skate rental is required to participate, if you want to bring personal skates they must be approved for synthetic ice. This skating season will take place every weekend through the rest of December.

Watch the critical and commercial success “Meet Me in St. Louis.” The holiday musical film is known for many of Judy Garland’s debut standards such as “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” There will be two showings of the movie: a matinee at 2:20 p.m. and an evening at 7:20 p.m. Vintage shorts will start 20 minutes before the show so be sure to get there early!
