Venue Spotlight: Autumn Oaks Event Center

Autumn Oaks – The things I imagine when saying these words are quite honestly some of my favorite things in the world. Immediately, I dream of fall, crisp air, warm yet vibrant leaves falling to the ground, and the laughter and love of my family. Maybe that’s what Lance and Judy Thornberry, along with their children, were thinking when naming their event center. After all, family was their inspiration and ultimately their passion.

Caitlan Thornberry with Autumn Oaks Event Center (10210 Woodrow Road) spoke with us about how a family event turned into a family dream, and how that dream eventually became a reality.

How did Autumn Oaks Event Center come to be?

When my sister-in-law was getting married, she wanted an outdoor wedding with the freedom to do what she wanted to do (choose her own vendors) and there wasn’t really a venue like that in Lubbock, so we saw an opportunity. The whole family is involved with the venue, and each person plays a role.

The venue is about 7,000 square feet. The reception hall is approximately 4,300 square feet and can accommodate up to 300 people.

When their vision started to come to fruition, it was important to them to allow for versatility in every aspect for customers: versatility in how involved a customer wants to be in planning, how to implement that plan and what a customer wants. This venue can host a wide variety of events from weddings and receptions to corporate events and fundraisers. There is no doubt that whatever event you are hosting, Autumn Oaks Event Center has the flexibility you need with the support you desire.

What do you want our readers to know about your venue?
We would love to share how important customer service is to us. We truly love what we do and love that we get to meet new people and make new friends every day. Every day we get to hear special stories and play a part in making their dreams come true.

What makes this venue different from others in the area?
What makes us different is our open vendor policy. We allow you to make those decisions and choose your own vendors. We also have a spacious outdoor area and reception hall so that you can host a large ceremony and reception in the same place.
