  • The Sports Capital of West Texas

    The expressed mission of  Lubbock Sports is "to establish Lubbock as the Sports Capital of West Texas and Eastern New Mexico."

    What can Lubbock Sports do for you and your event? 

    For ALL events that bring in participants from outside the community:

    • Enhance creditability of your event and your efforts by providing an increased level of visible "Community/City Support."
    • Assist with objectively assessing exact, specific event needs to determine if Lubbock is a suitable host destination. 
    • Check your event dates against sports events and conventions master calendars to determine if pre-scheduled or pending future events will lead to housing or venue conflicts. 
    • Request room blocks and rates from hotels for you to consider. 
    • Assist with evaluation of facility needs, and help obtain use of facilities that appropriately match the requirements of your event. 
    • Work with you to create professionally prepared, "knock-their-socks-off" event hosting proposals and bid presentations. 
    • Host site inspection visit by governing body. 
    • Provide experienced, objective, professional assistance in planning your event. 
    • Use existing relationships with sponsors and vendors and the bargaining strength of volume consuming to package your event with other sports events to enhance its level of attractiveness. 
    • Work with you to market your event to increase the number of participants and spectators. 
    • Provide visitor guides, city maps and event-specific restaurant guides for your participants and spectators.

  • Pro Fastpitch/Player Clinic/World Tournament 2010

    USSSA is excited to announce that Professional Fastpitch is coming to Lubbock, Texas. USSSA's Florida Pride will play host to the Chicago Bandits June 9 - 13, 2010 at Rocky Johnson Field on the campus of Texas Tech University. Both teams are part of the National Pro Fastpitch League. www.profastpitch.com

    Players such as Jessica Mendoza will be on a star-studded Pride roster along with recent signee and fellow Stanford and Olympic teammate, Lauren Lappin. Other former Olympians include outfielders Kelly Kretschman and Caitlin Lowe, and pitching phenom, Monica Abbott. Additionally, Florida has recently signed NCAA standout, Katie Burkhart, formerly of Arizona State and the NPFs Philadelphia Force.

    Bandit players include Jenny Finch, 2008 Player of the Year Stacy May and 2008
    Championship Series MVP Nicole Trimboli. USSSA teams and players will have the opportunity to meet many of the fastpitch stars. A player clinic will be conducted by USSSA that will include many of these stars. You can go online to register now by clicking on the following link: www.usssa.com. Players who register for the clinic will be given a free pass to the pro game.

    All games will begin at 7:05pm and 12:05pm on June 13, 2010.

    Texas Tech will conduct a coaches clinic for all coaches at all levels on Saturday. Many of the pro players will be assisting the Tech coaches. More information will be forthcoming. Visit the Red Raider website at: www.texastech.com

    More good news: USSSA will host the WORLD CLASS C TOURNAMENT in Lubbock. The C World Series will be held for ages 8U Machine Pitch thru 18U.
